Apostle Paul Vs Yahshua Messiah's Teaching

74

By Deborah Sexton

So that this article doesn't get too lengthy, I am dealing with just a few of the differences.

I will be writing another hub on this.

Yahshua Messiah had a very loving spirit. He cared for those who were lost as much as anyone. He showed a lot of meekness and became a servant and taught us to be servants.

Matthew 23:11
But he that is greatest among you shall be your servant.

Yet many who claim to love God and his son, show more loyalty to the False Apostle Paul than to God.

You say you love Yahshua, you even say he died to save you. Do you really believe that? Than why do you live by Paul's words instead of His?

Let's Compare Paul's Teachings To Those Of Yahshua's

Becoming As Little Children

Yahshua

Yahshua taught that people who would enter the Kingdom of Heaven must be as little children

Matthew 18:3
And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.

Paul

Paul taught to put away childish things

1 Corinthians 13:11
When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things

The Dead

Yahshua Said:

Luke.20
[38] Now he is not God of the dead, but of the living;

But Paul taught differently

Rom.14
[9] For to this end Christ died and lived again, that he might be Lord both of the dead and of the living.

Enemies

Yahshua

Yahshua Taught to do good to our enemies so we can be the children of our Heavenly Father.

Matthew 5:44,45 48

44. But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you. 45. That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven..........48. Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

Paul

Paul said to give food and drink to our enemies, not to become children of our heavenly Father, nor to to help our enemies, but to heap coals of fire on their heads

Romans 12:20
Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head

Exaltation Before Man

Yahshua said exaltation amoung men is an abomination

Luke.16
[15] But he said to them, You are those who justify yourselves before men, but God knows your hearts; for what is exalted among men is an abomination in the sight of God.
Luke.6
[26] Woe to you, when all men speak well of you, for so their fathers did to the false prophets.

But wouldn't you know it, Paul taught just the opposite

2 Cor.8
[21] for we aim at what is honorable not only in the Lord's sight but also in the sight of men.
Rom.12
[17] Repay no one evil for evil, but take thought for what is noble in the sight of all men.
Rom.14
[18] he who thus serves Christ is acceptable to God and approved by men.
1 Cor.10
[33] just as I try to please all men in everything I do, not seeking my own advantage, but that of many, that they may be saved.

Faith-See Salvation

Father

Yahshua

Yahshua taught not to call anyone on earth, Father.

Matthew 23:9
And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven.

Paul

Paul taught that the Elders were to be entreated as a Father

1 Timothy 5:1
Rebuke not an elder, but intreat him as a father ; and the younger men as brethren;

Paul indicated that his converts were his sons, and he took on the characteristic of their Father.

2 Timothy 1

11. Whereunto I am appointed a preacher, and an apostle, and a teacher of the Gentiles

Flesh

Paul

Paul taught that flesh could not inherit the Kingdom of God.

1 Corinthians 15:50
Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption

Yahshua

Yahshua taught we are to enter into the Kingdom of God in Flesh as well as spirit.

In Luke 24:15-51 after finding the tomb of Yahshua was empty (body and spirit)
He opened their eyes and they saw him. He sat at meat with them and brake bread, blessed it, than he vanished out of their sight.

Later, he appeared to them and they were afraid because they thought they had seen a spirit.
To show them that he had raised his body along with his spirit, he asked if they had any meat, and he ate it. He ate fish and a honeycomb. He taught and blessed them, and he, his body and spirit was carried into heaven.

So Flesh entered into heaven, which is contrary to what Paul taught.

Forgiveness of Tresspasses see also justification

Yahshua said if we forgive we will be forgiven

Matt.6
[14] For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father also will forgive you;
[15] but if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses

The only time Yahshua talked about us receiving Grace (Mercy) He said we would get mercy by giving mercy. Grace for Grace

John 1:16
And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace.

But Paul said it's was by Grace and The Blood

Eph.1
[7] In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace
Rom.4
[25] who was put to death for our trespasses and raised for our justification.

Judgement of Others

Yahshua

Yahshua taught that if someone didn't hear His, or their words not to judge, just leave them alone.

John 12:47
And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.

Matthew 10:14
And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words, when ye depart out of that house or city, shake off the dust of your feet.

Paul

Paul said he judged them even though Yahshua said he didn't

1 Corinthians 5:3
For I verily, as absent in body, but present in spirit, have judged already, as though I were present, concerning him that hath so done this deed,

Paul taught that someone (even in the church) who commits fornication should be killed . so that his soul would be saved.

A sinner was to be rebuked before all to create fear in the other people.

1 Corinthians 5:5
To deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus

1 Timothy 5:20
Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear.

Yahshua said to keep it private

Matthew 18:15
Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother.

Justification see also forgiveness

Yahshua said we are justified (or not) By our words.

Matt.12
[37] for by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.

But Paul said we are justified by God's Grace

Rom.3
[24] they are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption which is in Christ Jesus,
[28] For we hold that a man is justified by faith apart from works of law.
Rom.5
[9] Since, therefore, we are now justified by his blood, much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God.

Source Of Teachings

Yahshua Said: He gave everyone God's word, that it was truth and would sanctify them

John.17
[14] I have given them thy word;
[17] Sanctify them in the truth; thy word is truth.

But Paul said He Wasn't Taught By Anyone

1Cor.2
[13] And we impart this in words not taught by human wisdom but taught by the Spirit, interpreting spiritual truths to those who possess the Spirit.
Gal.1
[12] For I did not receive it from man, nor was I taught it, but it came through a revelation of Jesus Christ.

The Law

Yahshua

Yahshua made it clear many times that we are to keep our Father's commandments

Matthew 19:17

And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments

Deauteronomy 6:2

says they are to keep everything God has told them "all the days of their life" and teach them to their son's and their son's sons.

Paul

Paul wanted us to think that no one can become righteous through the law.

Paul said the Law was given so every man would become guilty. Paul is the only ONE who ever made this statement in scripture

Romans 3:19
Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God

But the scriptures tell us differently. The Law was given so it might be well with us, for our good

Deuteronomy 5:29
O that there were such an heart in them, that they would fear me, and keep all my commandments always, that it might be well with them, and with their children for ever!

Deuteronomy 6:24
And the LORD commanded us to do all these statutes, to fear the LORD our God, for our good always, that he might preserve us alive, as it is at this day

Righteous/Righteousness

Paul

Many Christians will use this verse from Romans where Paul says there are none that are righteous to prove man can't be. This is why it is important to read the Old Testament. Have you ever looked up the scripture that Paul is suppose to be quoting?

Romans 3:10
As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one"

But no such scripture is written

Let's look at Paul's whole statement

Romans 3:10

"10. As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one; 11. there is none who understands; there is none who seek after God. 12. They have all gone out of the way; they have together become unprofitable; there is none who does good, no not one. 13. Their throat is an open tomb; with their tongues they have practiced deceit; the poison of asps is under their lips; 14. whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness. 15. Their feet are swift to shed blood; 16. destruction and misery are in their ways; 17. and the way of peace they have not known. 18. There is no fear of God before their eyes."

Now, let's read the actual verse in Psalms where Paul gleaned some of his statement

Psalm 14:1-7

1. "The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good 2. The LORD looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, and seek God 3. They are all gone aside, they are all together become filthy: there is none that doeth good, no, not one 4. Have all the workers of iniquity no knowledge? who eat up my people as they eat bread, and call not upon the LORD 5. There were they in great fear: for God is in the generation of the righteous 6. Ye have shamed the counsel of the poor, because the LORD is his refuge 7. Oh that the salvation of Israel were come out of Zion! when the LORD bringeth back the captivity of his people, Jacob shall rejoice, and Israel shall be glad"

David wasn't speaking of every man. He was speaking of the fool, atheists, workers of abominations, corrupt, ignorant, and workers of iniquity.

Paul took the remainder of his statement, out of context from Psalm 5:9, Psalm 140:3, Psalm 10:7, Isaiah 59:7,8, and Psalm 36:1

In each passage it is speaking of evil men and it contrasts them with the upright, innocent, just, and righteous.

Paul says there is none righteous, so what does that say about what he thought of Yahshua? Yahshua was without sin, therefore righteous. Yahshua said he didn't come to call the RIGHTEOUS, but the sinner. If there were no righteous, Yahshua would have said he came to save all, because all would have been sinners.

Romans 3:10
As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one"

Matthew 9:13
But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

Salvation

Yahshua

Yahshua taught to keep THE commandments and endure till the end. Yes, there is some work involved

Matthew 19:17

And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments

Matthew 24:13
But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved

Yahshua taught that faith was only one of the requirements

Matthew 23:23
Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.

For the definition of Judgments read

Exodus 21:1
Now these are the judgments which thou shalt set before them

Paul

Paul said we are saved by Grace through faith. You will not find anyone else in the scriptures claiming this.

Ephesians 2:8
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God

Paul said he had another doctrine. Absolutely nothing to do except believe. Paul is the only one that taught we are saved without works

2 Timothy 2

8. Remember that Jesus Christ of the seed of David was raised from the dead according to my gospel: (Paul)

Romans 3:28
Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law

Paul uses Abraham as an example to try and prove his doctrine of faith

Romans 4:3
For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness

Galatians 3:6
Even as Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness

James, knowing what Paul taught, contradicts him

James Said

James 2:14
What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him?

James 2:17, 21, 22

17. Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar? 21. Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar? 22. Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect?

James 2:24,26

24. Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.. 26. For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also

Genesis 26:5

Because that Abraham obeyed my voice, and kept my charge, my commandments, my statutes, and my laws.

"Sojourn in this land, and I will be with you and bless you; for to you and your descendants I give all these lands, and I will perform the oath which I swore to Abraham your father. And I will make your descendants multiply as the stars of heaven; I will give to your descendants all these lands; and in your seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed; BECAUSE Abraham obeyed My voice and kept My charge, My commandments, My statutes, and My Laws."

Seed of God

God promised Abraham his promises and covenants were for his seeds and for his seeds seeds (For all of the Jews)

Genesis 13:15-16

"For all the land which thou seest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed for ever.

And I will make thy seed as the dust of the earth: so that if a man can number the dust of the earth, then shall thy seed also be numbered."

Exodus 32:13

"Remember Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, thy servants, to whom thou swarest by thine own self, and saidst unto them, I will multiply your seed as the stars of heaven, and all this land that I have spoken of will I give unto your seed, and they shall inherit it for ever."

But Paul said God didn't mean many seeds to include all the Jews, but only one seed, Christ.

Galatians 3:16
"Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ."

Yahshua knew the Gentiles (Christians) who were supposedly saved would claim to be Jews, so Yahshua said this

Revelations 2:9

"I know thy works, and tribulation, and poverty, (but thou art rich) and I know the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews, and are not, but are the synagogue of Satan"

No non-Jew calls themselves Jew except one, and that is the Christians

If the Jews are no longer the Jews chosen of God, why were they sealed.

Revelations 7:4

"And I heard the number of them which were sealed: and there were sealed an hundred and forty and four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel. "

Abraham's works, showed his faith

Sin

Yahshua

Yahshua said it was so important not to sin, that we should cut off the member of our bodythat does

Matthew 5:30
And if thy right hand offend thee, cut it off, and cast it from thee

Yahshua taught that we can't serve two masters.

Matthew 6:24
No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

Matthew 6:22
The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light

Paul

Paul said he served the law of God with his mind but he served the law of sin with his body

Romans 7:25
I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin

Paul taught that everyone has sinned and that no one can live a sinless life

But that is not what the others taught

Paul wanted the Gentiles to keep on in their sin and he himself couldn't stop sinning. How could he be a church leader if the Gentiles KNEW that sin was to be stopped?

But Yahshua didn't say everyone had to be saved. He indicated there were righteous people

Matthew 9:13
But go ye and learn what that means, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

It is a credit to your commitment to the information. I do not think it is bad to be so informative, after all, if someone is doing the research you may qualify as a reference point. Good Job actually.

Boy, I have never ever read anything where someone has such a biased view of scripture. You may have many details but you have taken so much out of context! You clearly don't understand where Paul is coming from . Did you forget that Paul spent quite a bit of time with Jesus in preparation for his ministry. Have you also forgotten that Jesus himself said that Paul was a chosen vessel unto him. What you are implying is that Jesus made a very bad choice in Paul to proclaim the Gospel.

Think again please!!!!

Do you perhaps have an axe to grind with Paul because of some of the things he said about women?

Deborah Sexton profile image

Deborah Sexton Hub Author 20 months ago

Errol, I am amazed at how little you know about God's word.

Study, study, study.

Paul never spent one moment with Yahshua. While Yahshua was here, Paul spent the whole time persecuting and murdering those who followed Yahshua. Yahshua never ministered to Paul. Paul told three different lies about his so called "conversion"

Angry over what Paul said about women? Hardly. But no one else said it. It is against what God said.

Jeremiah 31:22

How long wilt thou go about, O thou backsliding daughter? for the LORD hath created a new thing in the earth, A woman shall compass a man.

Show me where Paul is chosen as a vessel..besides in the lies Paul told about his conversion.

Taken out of context? I can't reprint the whole Bible.

I do get Paul. He was the beginning of the anti-christ.

John 12:40

He hath blinded their eyes, and hardened their heart; that they should not see with their eyes, nor understand with their heart, and be converted, and I should heal them.

Just so you know Errol, I use to be in the Christian religion. I thought Paul was all that.

I continued to pray for truth and God opened my eyes and led me out.

hOW ABOUT ACTS 9:15 ?

Deborah Sexton profile image

Deborah Sexton Hub Author 20 months ago

In Acts chapter 9 verse 2, Saul is working with the high priest who is a Sadducee, an opponent of the Pharisees..

Saul was probably an employee of the Roman appointed high priests. Paul was sent to suppress movements regarded as a threat to the Roman occupation. Because Yahshua was crucified on a charge of sedition, his followers were under the same suspicion.

The high priests gave Paul an important mission which was to travel to Damascus to arrest prominent members of the Jerusalem church. Paul felt that the only way that he could beat them was to join them. So he faked his conversion and became part of them by changing his name to Paul.

He is the one who named himself an apostle and told three different stories about his conversion. As a matter of fact he said that he received a revelation that made him far higher than the other apostles.

God does not contradict himself. In Acts 9 and 10, you read the story about how the Holy Spirit went to Cornelius and while he was having a vision Peter was having a vision also. In the vision it was revealed unto both of them that Peter was chosen as the Apostle to the Gentiles..

God therefore spoke to two witnesses and confirmed that Peter was assigned to the gentiles. But Paul, with no witnesses now claimed to be the Apostle to this gentle.

Paul said that Peter was the Apostle to those who were under the law.

He was reassigning the duties that GOD had appointed.

Paul knew that if he made himself one them he could take over and teach the gentiles. He decided he could infiltrate them and lead them wrong. By teaching the gentiles incorrectly, on purpose, that he would be able to stop the spread of the true Gospel of Yahshua..

Luke, who wrote the book of Acts was Paul's friend. Luke recorded what Paul told him about his so called "conversion" No one was saying that it truly happened.

All the accounts in the Bible about Paul's conversion was given by Paul, there were no other witnesses.

I am offering you Truth so that you can live for God correctly. If you don't wish to accept it at this time, that's fine. I can only plant the seed of truth.

Paul's teachings are good especialy when you are not too riggid on the authority of bible. To me, bible is the work of men like any other men dedicated to God. This is to say they could make mistakes without necessarily being malicious. I like Paul's teachings because they can apply to all religions. The controvesy you notice is mainly caused by his emphasis on man's conscience other than written law. Please think about this; how did the first bible writers knew that a word is indead from God? Obviously a more direct communication with God is more fundamental than any written work. It should be trusted more than any written work because the latter is a secondery report. There is no reson why God would stop revealing himself. He can do it in our hearts far better than in books.

Great hub. I'm an atheist, but I'm also very interested in history. From study I've always felt Paul was a fraud, and for many of the reasons you point out. It is a pity more Christians don't know the history of their religion.

Siarty, Thank you for your comment. I am glad you can see through him. It says that if possible the very elect(Jews) would be fooled. That's what Paul did, he took truth away from the people and made Christ of no effect. It is a test in the word. Paul is spoken of in revelations as the false apostle.

Paul's writing test people of today the way they did in Paul's day.

Why does it say God called Paul to do a work if he wasn't of God?

The answer is here:

Revelation 17:17

For God hath put in their hearts to fulfil his will, and to agree, and give their kingdom unto the beast, until the words of God shall be fulfilled.
